| US New Year's Eve forecast 2017: NYC to face biting winds as cold grips central, eastern US The areas most likely at risk for wet weather to dampen the end of 2017 will occur along the U.S. Gulf Coast and across the Pacific Northwest. The battleground of the cold air to the north and the warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico could assist in the development of a storm system later this weekend.
